Book Six
Chapter Twenty-three
The fire that has surrounded them grows larger and larger before finally attacking Sakura. Shaoran grabs her and pushes her out of the way of the flames before realizing this is the work of a Clow Card. The fire attacks again but this time the two are saved by Yukito. Sakura realizes she must seal the card but feels she can't use her magic in front of Yukito. Shaoran asks for forgiveness before punching Yukito and knocking him out. Sakura summons Shield and Mizuki-sensei further repels the flames with her bell. Sakura tries to use Windy to capture the card, but the flames only grow more out of control. Kero-chan appears and tells Sakura Windy cannot beat this card because it is one of the elements. Since Sakura already has Windy and Watery they deduce the card attaking them is Firey. The card reveals its true form and Sakura summons Watery to fight it. However, Watery and Firey are of equal strength and the battle ends in a draw. Firey finally overcomes Watery and attacks Sakura directly, sending her flying backwards. But before she can crash into a wall, Kero-chan saves her but becomes badly injured. He says he'll be fine if Sakura catches the card, warning there will be one more after Firey and passes out. Sakura gives Kero-chan to Mizuki and becomes greatly determined to beat the card. She asks Windy and Watery for their help one last time and summons both elements at once, amazing Mizuki-sensei and Shaoran. Windy shrinks the size of Firey and Watery puts out the rest of Firey's flames. Sakura seals the card as it falls defeated and suddenly Kero-chan begins to glow and sparkle. His wings grow to an enormous size and envelop him completely. When he appears again he takes on his true form, Keroberos. Sakura is quite impressed with his new form and Keroberos remarks it's good he's back to his true form to help with the last card because someone will soon appear. Sakura asks who and Mizuki-sensei once again repeats the name Yue. Suddenly an earthquake starts and they all run for the Tsukimine shrine for safety but before Sakura can get anywhere the ground beneath her opens up. Shaoran catches her as she is falling but loses his grip on her. As she falls into the chasm he screams her name, the first time he's called her by her first name. Keroberos brings her back to the ground and Sakura says she liked when he called her by her first name and asked if she could call him by his first name too. But before they can get too cozy Keroberos warns them now it not the time and Shaoran says the final card has appeared: the Earthy.
Chapter Twenty-four
The Earthy attack begins its assault and Sakura begins to worry about Yukito and Mizuki-sensei and is shocked to find that they are okay. Happy that they are safe, Sakura begins to concentrate on the card and asks Shaoran to take care of her friends. Shaoran begins to worry about Sakura, but Mizuki-sensei reminds him she'll be okay because of who she is. Meanwhile at Tomoyo's house the earthquake is affecting her family too, but when Sonomi remarks the earthquake isn't affecting her workplace, Tomoyo realizes it's a Clow Card and runs off to find Sakura. At work Touya also senses something is not right. Sakura worries about the city and asks Keroberos if this is the disaster of the Clow Cards, Keroberos says it's not, but rather the power the Earthy card has. She summons Watery to try to fight it, but Earthy ends up only absorbing it. Sakura tries to use Firey next because it is an attack card that belongs to Keroberos, but the card doesn't beat Earthy, and has the side effect of causing Earthy to send flaming boulders her direction. Keroberos tells her both earth and fire are under his domain, but since he is near Earthy, he'll be stronger. He tries to attack Earthy, but it transforms into an earth dragon. Keroberos tells Sakura to use Firey to strengthen him and it works for a little bit, but Earthy has very high endurance. Sakura flies to try to get away and notices that none of the trees have fallen in the process of the Earthy's attack. Sakura gets an idea and tells Keroberos to go fly back to Earthy, but Keroberos warns her that if she uses the wrong card again she might get hurt. Sakura says she said she'd catch all the cards and is determined to finish what she started. She summons the Wood card and commands it to bind Earthy with its vines. She seals the final card and Keroberos asks if she knows about the Five Elements. Sakura says she thought of using Wood because the ground where trees grew were okay. Keroberos is shocked she thought of it on her own because the Clow Cards' Eastern influence made them weak to the Chinese theory the world is divided into five elements that could be strengthened or weakened by each other. Keroberos says he was right in picking Sakura as the Cardcaptor and the two return to the ground to tell Shaoran she caught the card, Shaoran seems happy for her but Tomoyo appears and is no where near as cheerful since she missed filming the last capture. But to make her feel better, Sakura agrees to wear a costume anyway. Sakura and Shaoran wonder why Yukito hasn't woken up yet or why Keroberos seems so troubled despite the fact all the cards are now sealed. Tomoyo asks her if she signed the card yet and Sakura answers she has not, Keroberos tells her once she signs Earthy, all the cards will be sealed and she should be prepared and Mizuki chimes in, prepared for the final judgement. She signs the card innocently and suddenly the cards begin to react. Yukito, still knocked out, begins glowing and sparkling like Kero-chan had and also like Kero-chan grews a set of wings. The wings surround Yukito and when they open up again a new winged being with long hair appears.
Chapter Twenty-five
Sakura is confused as to what is happening and asks who the other being is. Keroberos tells her this being is Yue, the Clow Cards' other guardian. Sakura asks what happened to Yukito and Mizuki explains Yukito is Yue. Keroberos tells Yue he had been careless, and even though he never met Yukito directly, could sense the Moon very strongly at the school play and was only offput strongly by Mizuki-sensei and her powers. He asks Mizuki-sensei if she was in on the whole charade and Mizuki tells Keroberos this was the first time she met Yue. Sakura, left out of the grown up conversation demands an explanation since she doesn't understand what is happening. Yue explains like Kero-chan couldn't become his true form without all his powers, neither could Yue and therefore always stayed as Yukito. Yue begins examining Sakura and Keroberos gets in the way demanding what he is going to do to the girl. Yue calls him naive and Keroberos says he has a bad personality. Sakura asks what's going to happen since she caught all the cards and should be avoiding the disaster. Keroberos explains after sealing the cards there is a final test called the Final Judgement and she must use the cards she sealed against Yue in order to prove she is their rightful master. Sakura suddenly realizes the images now unfolding are just like the dream she had the night before. Yue begins to attack her and Shaoran tries to help, but Keroberos warns him if he helps she'll lose. Shaoran is frustrated that he didn't sense him earlier since he was always around Sakura's brother. Keroberos explains they came to the town with the most power to wait for someone to break the seal and it was coincidence that Yukito hung around Touya, someone with as much power as Sakura. Tomoyo asks if Yukito knew about the cards, but Keroberos explains Yukito didn't know about Yue, his other self because if he had, he would have been detected much earlier. Mizuki-sensei says people with power are attracted to those with power and the Cardcaptor and someone with Clow's blood would be attracted to Clow's guardians, hence why both Sakura and Shaoran had crushes on Yukito. Shaoran asks why Sakura had a 'crush' on Mizuki-sensei and she says it's because of her role in the Final Judgement, Keroberos asks what that role is, but she doesn't say. Sakura continues to avoid Yue instead of attacking him and he warns if she doesn't start fighting back she'll lose and the disaster will befall the world. Sakura asks what the disaster actually is. Keroberos and Yue finally admit that the disaster is that everybody involved with the Clow Cards will forget the person they love most. Because the cards love the one that sealed them, they must forget to not become mean or evil. Sakura suddenly realizes that means she, Tomoyo, Shaoran, her brother, father, friends and just about everyone in town because of their involvement with the cards will forget the people they love. Realizing the gravity of failure, Sakura says she will not let that happen. But Sakura also doesn't want to attack because she still senses Yukito and she wants to become friends with Yue. Keroberos warns the only way to win is the attack Yue but Sakura says she will find another way.
Chapter Twenty-six
Sakura begins to summon Windy but Keroberos warns her that using Moon attribute cards will do no good against Yue, and since it is the time of the full moon, he will be strongest this night. Yue asks if there is any last advice he has yet to give his selected Cardcaptor and Keroberos says he will never forget Sakura and that everybody loves her. Determined more than ever to win, she uses Wood to battle Yue, but it is a mistake since Wood is also a moon card and Yue turns the card against her. Yue chastises her for not knowing more and said he's had enough and Sakura has failed and now the disaster will begin. Sakura refuses to quit and tries to approach Yue despite being held back by Wood and pulls herself free. Yue is startled since he thought only Clow could win the Judgment, Sakura begins to ask about Clow, but annoyed Yue prepares to end the battle by shooting an arrow at her. The cards come to her defense, refusing to let Yue hit her. Suddenly Mizuki-sensei steps in, Yue warns her not to get involved, but she merely tells him her powers are also that of the moon and gives Sakura her bell. She then explains that Clow Reed died in Japan ans scattered the card before he died, but he predicted his own death and arranged his affairs for the next owner of the cards. He knew the next owner would be a cute girl and made the Clow Staff look cute just for her. He also knew Yue, the moon, would be the judge and left something behind in case Sakura messed up. He made the bell and gave it to the shrine that would be closest to Sakura's house: the Tsukimine shrine that Mizuki-sensei was born to. And because of her powers she understood the bell's mystery and would give the bell to Sakura when she needed it. Mizuki-sensei and Sakura recite a chant together and give the power of the bell to Sakura's staff. The bell disappears and Sakura's staff changes to a new star influenced form. Mizuki-sensei explains this new staff will be able to use any card against Yue since she now has the moon's power. Sakura chooses to use Windy again to trap him and win the Final Judgment. Yue is upset that his purpose was for nothing if Clow decided what would happen anyway. Keroberos explains it was coincidence that they ended up around Sakura. Sakura says she knows Yue loved Clow very much but asks if she, even if she isn't nearly as powerful or as good a person as him, would accept her as his master and be her friend since she loves the cards and Kero-chan and could love him too. Sakura then realizes she already loves Yue since he is also Yukito. Yue thinks it over and declares Sakura the new master of the Clow Cards. Suddenly Sakura has a vision of Clow Reed who explains her new staff creates its own light and that he will be trouble to her in the future, but everything will be alright. She awakens and the cards return to her, Yue and Keroberos tell her she can't control them, but they will always be there for her when she needs them. They return to their earthly forms as Yukito and Kero, but Yukito has no memories of his time as Yue. Yukito begins to fall, but Touya comes out of no where and catches him. He asks Sakura what she is doing and she does her best to hide her activities. The next day Mizuki-sensei announces she is going to leave because the other math teacher is returning soon and Mizuki is going to return to studying abroad. Tomoyo asks why Shaoran liked Yukito, but hated Kero-chan and Mizuki-sensei while Sakura liked all of them. Mizuki explains Shaoran's magic is very Moon based, but Sakura's is a balance between Moon and Sun magic, but because Mizuki's Moon magic is different than the Clow magic, Shaoran saw her more of a rival than a friend. Mizuki-sensei's role was to help Sakura, and Sakura could sense that unconsciously. Kero-chan remarks that she was destined to be the Clow Cards' mistress and at that Shaoran starts to blush again. Touya finishes packing Mizuki-sensei's car and Sakura begins to wonder about her feelings for Yukito. Mizuki-sensei tells Touya he's just as nice to non-humans as ever and to tell Yukito soon, to which Touya is confused. They all wish Mizuki-sensei goodbye and Sakura begins to wonder what her vision with Clow Reed meant, and what he said about 'I' will be trouble for you soon before running off to join her friends
