Book Seven

Chapter Twenty-Seven
Sakura has a dream of several beings at the Tokyo Tower and has the feeling she has met them before. But when she wakes up and tries to tell Kero-chan about it--she forgets. As she gets ready for school she remembers what Clow Reed said to her after the Final Judgement. That he will be a 'problem to her'. She catches up with her brother and Yukito and go to school where Sakura meets up with Tomoyo and later with Syaoran. They learn that Syaoran will be going back to Hong Kong since all the cards have been captured. The teacher comes in and announces there is a new transfer student: Eriol Hiiragizawa from England, and just like with Syaoran, Sakura gets a feeling from him. The teacher places him next to Syaoran and Eriol says hello to Sakura and makes Syaoran furious. During lunch Sakura writes a letter to Mizuki-sensei to tell her about the new student, and Sakura can't help but feel like they've met before. Suddenly, Eriol pops out of no where and asks if he could sit next to Sakura and tells her that they may have met before, before they were born. Sakura and Eriol introduce themselves to each other and it turns out tehy are being spied on by Tomoyo and Syaoran. Syaoran dashes out and confronts Eriol, Sakura doesn't realize why and later asks Syaoran if there is something wrong and if there is anything she can do about it. Syaoran announces he is not going back to Hong Kong yet, there is still something for him to do. Sakura dashes off to get the group some ice cream and Tomoyo remarks Syaoran isn't leaving yet because he views Eriol as a rival, which Syaorna promptly denies. When Sakura returns with the ice cream, Touya appears and swipes one. Feeling bad for Sakura, Yukito offers to replace it and when he goes off to buy it Touya tells Sakura he's tired because of a new transfer student. Before Touya can explain why a very genki girl glomps him and introduces herself as Nakuru Akizuki. Sakura finds the girl old but pretty and when she runs off Touya gives her a suspitious look. Sakura tells Kero-chan about her day and says the new studnet in her class reminds her of her father and notices that there is a lot of rain pouring outside. The weatherlady on TV comments the rain is only falling on a few neighborhoods of Tomoeda. Kero-chan tells Sakura the rain is not normal and tells her to investigate. With Tomoyo and a new costume tehy check out the rain and Sakura tries to fight it with the Watery Card. Instead of defeating the magic rain, Watery is absorbed by it and Sakura gets attacked.

Chapter Twenty-Eight
Kero-chan recognizes the aura of the magic and Sakura uses the Shield to try to defend herself but the magic breaks through. With Sakura in danger, Kero-chan warns Sakura the cards are useless and to retreat. Kero doesn't understand how the Clow Cards lost but as they are running away, a figure watches them, unaffected by the magic. Back home Sakura wonders why she was unable to stop the magic rain and Kero-chan orders Sakura to invite Yukito over so he can talk to Yue and warn him of the upcoming threat. The next day Sakura asks Touya to invite Yuktio over and offers to take dinner duty. At school the rain is all anybody can talk about and Sakura still tries to figure out what is causing it. Eriol gives her a flower and tells her to smile and Syaoran rushes over to talk to her. They discuss the rain and Syaoran surmisses whoever is behind the event is a very powerul magician. Touya spots the two as he is carrying papers with Yukito and after observing his sister tries to tell Yukito something. But before he can Nakuru glomps him again and tells him the teacher is waiting for the papers. Touya walks off and Nakuru stays behind to tell Yukito she will see him later and will recieve something. Yukito is confused by the statment, but them Nakuru runs off. Later that evening Sakura makes dinner for Yukito and Touya. Touya runs off for work and Yukito offers to clean up. Yukito sees Touya off but before he returns Kero-chan appears and orders Yue to appear. Yue remarks he's annoyed with his temperary form because they have become so different and they go to talk to Sakura. Sakura offers Yue tea but he says he does not have to eat or drink, and Kero-chan only eats because he likes to. Kero-chan turns into Keroberos and the three of them go back to the park to try to fight the rain again. The rain attacks again but Yue and Keroberos become paralyzed and Sakura becomes the target. Yue and Keroberos try to help her and realize where the power is coming from. The three become trapped within tubes of water and Sakura realizes they will drown. Refusing to let her friends get hurt she emits a new form of magic and transforms to Firey. She saves everybody but after examining that Firey had changed forms falls asleep. Meanwhile a group of beings observed the entire event remarking it will be fun.

Chapter Twenty-Nine
Sakura has another dream, this time of the sun and moon being blotted out of the sky by the person at Tokyo Tower. When she wakes up Touya and her father are around her seeming very concerned. She says she isn't sick but they tell her to stay home from school. Touya and Fujitaka leave, but Touya thinks something is going to happen again. Sakura begins to realize Eriol reminds her of someone besides her father and tries to remember who. She falls asleep again before Kero-chan can talk to her, and instead decides to examine the card that transformed and wonders why it happened. Back at school everybody notices Sakura is missing and Tomoyo and Shaoran are worried and Tomoyo suggests they visit her after school to make her feel better. Shaoran wonders why he'll be invited and Tomoyo tells him Sakura would be happy for him to visit. Everyone becomes impressed with Eriol's cooking ability and he tells them at first he lives with two and them corrects himself that he lives with three people, making Shaoran very suspitious again. Touya and Yukito have lunch together again and Touya tries to tell him what he had meant to say before, but Nakuru gets people's attention again by playing basketball with the boys. People say she should join a club since she's so good and Touya remarks that she and Yukito have a lot in common, Yukito assumes Touya means because neither belong to any club but Touya says that's not what he meant. Back at home Sakura finally wakes up and Tomoyo and Syaraon have come over to visit. They bring Sakura the treats they made in home ec. They ask Sakura why she missed school because of sleep and Kero-chan figures it's because of the new form the Firey Card took. They notice not only that the Firey's appearance was different, but that the back and the staff had changed too, and Kero-chan says it was remade into Sakura's magic from Clow's. Tomoyo is thrilled by the promise of new adventure and suggests the call the new cards 'Sakura Cards'. Based off of what Kero-chan said, Shaoran assumes Sakura fell asleep because she was drained by having to use her own magic to create and use the card, but still wonder what was the cause of the other magic. Kero-chan said that while in his other form he was unable to move, and at the moment only he, Yue and the master of the cards can affect him. And right now the cards are between two masters, Sakura and Clow Reed. Eriol returns home to his talking cat Spinel and Nakuru. Spinel remarks Nakuru should wear a boy's uniform but Nakuru says she's not human so she doesn't even have a gender but is annoyed she can't draw on the delicious magic because a boy keeps hanging around her treat. Nakuru asks Eriol if he likes Tomoeda and Eriol says yes, since this was the place he died. He releases his want and transforms Spinel and Nakuru into their true forms. They ask why they came here and Eriol states since he is Clow Reed's reincarnation there is something he wants

Chapter Thirty
Sakura has the dream again and once again can't remember it. Sakura is upset by this but Kero-chan tells her he and Yue will help her and she should be happy. She leaves for school and Kerochan watches her, thinking about how it was possible to sense Clow's magic since he's dead. At school all of Sakura's friends try to cheer her up and Rika makes her cookies. When they are assured Sakura feels better Rika begins working on the teddy bear she is making for the person she loves. Tomoyo says that if the person you love names a teddy bear after you it's your true love and Sakura gets an idea. Meanwhile Syaoran overhears the story and gets his own idea. Eriol catches him and Syaoran becomes suspitious again. Eriol offers to become friends but when he says Shaoran's full name, Shaoran passes out. When the boy comes to in Eriol's arms he runs off. After school Sakura and gang decide to go the craft store but Rika says she has to go somewhere else. Eriol asks if he may come to buy some thread and Shaoran says he'll come too. Meanwhile, Rika runs off to find Terada-sensei to give him her bear. On the way to the shop Sakura asks Syaoran if he senses anything, he says no but worries she might be attacked if she were alone. At the shop Sakura buys the last teddy bear kit and asks if Tomoyo wanted to buy one too. Tomoyo says her only wish is for the person she loves to be happy and not being liked in return is not important to her. Sakura says whoever she loves must be really happy. Sakura asks Eriol what he bought and he shows her thread. At home Sakura tries to work on the teddy but things don't go well. Yukito calls from downstairs to say Touya forgot a book, Sakura says he's at work but Yukito turns into Yue. Yue tells Kero he will soon be unable to return to his false form. Sakura's magic isn't enough, and the moon has limited reflected light, he will need a full source to survive and he has one in mind but there is a problem with it involving Yukito. Yue turns back into his other form and Yukito begins to ask how he ended up where he was standing. Afterwards Sakura regrets having to lie but when she starts arguing with Kero-chan she senses Clow Reed's aura. She and Shaoran try to look for the source when suddenly Shaoran attacks Sakura! Shaoran says his body is being controlled by something and struggles with a water Ofuda to reveal the source. Sakura sees that his body is being pulled by strings like a puppet. Shaoran orders Sakura to cut the strings but for some reason she is unable to summon the key. She realizes it has developed new powers and needs a new spell. She calls on the power of Stars instead of Darkness and it releases. She transforms the Sword card and frees Shaoran. After seeing the new card again Sakura falls asleep. As it turns out, Eriol was the one behind the string incident
