Book Eight

Chapter Thirty-one
Sakura continues to struggle in both making her teddy bear and figuring out what is happening with the Clow Cards. After writing another letter to Mizuki-sensei Sakura is approached by Eriol and he asks her what she was doing. Sakura says she was writing a letter to the teacher that watched over her. But for some reason Eriol seems upset with her talking about Mizuki-sensei but then notices the teddy bear Sakura is working on and offers to help make it look right. After fixing it Sakura is grateful and asks Eriol how she can repay him, he just kisses her hand and says he's jealous of the person who will get the bear. Meanwhile, Shaoran observes Chiharu giving a bear to Yamazaki and begins thinking about the bear he made when Yukito appears and asks who he is going to give the bear to. Shaoran gets a flash of Sakura's face and begins to freak out and runs away, trying to figure out why he developed feelings for Yukito and crashes right into Sakura and her bear. Realizing he blushes around her just like he does Yukito he tries to figure out what he feels for either of them. Yue suddenly appears and explains the feelings Shaoran has for Yukito are not the same as those for Sakura. He liked Yukito because he was drawn by Clow's magic. Yue asks Shaoran who he thinks of all the time and Shaoran suddenly realizes he's in love with Sakura! Yukito appears again to give Shaoran back his teddy bear and Shaoran begins to think about his feelings again. Later that evening Sakura goes over to Yukito's house to give him the teddy bear. Tomoyo is thrilled to tape the moment but Sakura asks why Kero-chan wanted to come too. Kero-chan explains he wants to see if Yukito is healthy and then changes the subject. Sakura gives Yukito the bear and Tomoyo asks Kero-chan if Sakura liked Yukito only because of Yue's power, Kero-chan says no, she really liked him, but Yue is losing his power and may lose both his true and false form soon. Suddenly Sakura senses Clow Reed's power and Sakura's teddy bear grows to monstrous proportions!

Chapter Thirty-two
The giant teddy bear begins to move and nearly crushes Sakura! Yue saves her, but loses his wings and crashes into a bush. Ruby Moon and Spinel Sun watch the scene with interest, remarking Yue will need to draw new power soon to survive. Sakura is worried that Yue is hurt, but he reassures her he is fine and Sakura decides to battle the giant teddy bear. She transforms and uses the Jump card to escape it's path. Yue tells Sakura to find the source of the bear's power to stop it. She senses the source in the bear's ear and uses Sword and Jump in combination but can't reach the ear. Kero-chan suggests using Fly, but realizes both Sword and Fly need the staff to work. Sakura asks for Fly's help and the card transfers its powers from the staff to Sakura's back and using Sword cuts off the bear's ear, making it go back to normal. Inside the ear was a slip of paper with Clow Reed's magic circle. The next day Sakura tells Syaoran what happened and Syaoran is furious Sakura didn't tell him earlier so he could help. Sakura apologizes and give Shaoran a cell phone and promises to call him next time. Shaoran asks if Sakura was at Yukito's to give him the bear and Sakura says yes, realizing that Shaoran likes Yukito too and apologizes. Shaoran says he realized he doesn't like Yukito, he likes someone else. Sakura begins to ask who but interrupts Shaoran realizing it's not her business. She begins to ask what is in the back Shaoran brought with him and he runs off. Sakura notices that he dropped the back and inside was another teddy bear. At the high school, Yukito tries to figure out why he's been feeling so badly and why he keeps passing out. Touya approaches him and tries to explain what's happening, saying he won't let Yukito disappear. Before he can say anymore, Nakuru appears and interrupts him. Again. Touya walks off and Nakuru warns Yukito to not get in her way. Later she runs into Spinel and says she's very interested in obtaining Touya's magic.

Chapter Thirty-three
Sakura has the dream of the Tokyo Tower and the mysterious being again but once again cannot remember it when she wakes up. Sakura is still very tired from transforming the cards, but Kero-chan notices she looks red is sort of warm. Downstairs Touya notices that Sakura looks sick and she begs him not to tell her father. He suggests she stay home after their father leaves but Sakura says she has too much to do. At school Tomoyo and Shaoran notice Sakura's cold as well, but says she is fine. She tries to give Shaoran back the teddy bear he dropped the other day, but he says Sakura can keep it. During gym Sakura passes out and the teacher sends her home. Touya picks her up and when walking home Touya observes a strange mist beginning to cover the city. Touya puts Sakura to bed, but instead of going to sleep, Sakura senses Clow's aura in the fog and goes to stop it. Kero-chan tells Sakura to go back to bed because she will get sick and her brother will return soon. Sakura realizes Kero-chan is right, but instead og going back to bed she uses the Mirror card to create a double of herself while she goes out. Kero-chan keeps asking her to go back or at least to get Tomoyo and Shaoran to help, she calls them and finds neither in so she continues on. She tries to use the Fly to investigate, but falls to the group. Luckily Shaoran catches her but before he can scold her for being out while sick the mist causes him to disappear. Sakura tries to figure out how to stop it when she hears Clow Reed's voice and she uses Windy to blow the mist away. She falls to the ground again but before Shaoran or Kero-chan can save her, she is caught by Eriol. Eriol didn't realize Sakura was sick, so he brings her home and cures her fever. Shaoran and Kero-chan find Sakura just outside her house, covered by someone's coat. Back in Sakura's room Touya figured out Mirror was not Sakura and says they've met before. Touya figures Sakura up to something again and asks Mirror to please not say anything about him knowing. Seeing Sakura is safe Shaoran decides to go home, but Kero-chan says he has to come too because otherwise Sakura's brother will figure him out. Touya visits Sakura again, realizing this time it's his sister. Sakura gets some warm milk and honey and goes to sleep when later her father returns to check on her. As he thought, she was sick, but is grateful Sakura is better now.

Chapter Thirty-four
Sakura and Tomoyo make chocolates for Valentine's day and notices that Sakura made one share too many. She made one for Yukito, Touya, Kero and her father, but there is one last one that Sakura didn't intend to make! The next day Sakura gives out the chocolate and at school Yamazaki begins telling lies again. Chiharu tries to stop him, but then Eriol joins in, exploiting both poor gullible Shaoran and Sakura. At the high school Nakuru tries to give Touya chocolates, demanding something from him in return. Touya says to give the chocolate to someone else because he already has someone he likes. Nakuru says she won't give up, since Touya still doesn't know what he's supposed to give the person he likes, and will get nothing in return. Later Sakura says she has to catch up with Yukito, so she runs off, but before she does, Tomoyo gives her Valentine chocolate and Shaoran begins to say something, but changes his mind. When Sakura is gone Tomoyo guesses he had chocolates for her too but Shaoran says he has to find out who gave Sakura the coat when she was sick. Later, Spinel tells Eriol someone is trying to track him, Eriol figures it's probably Shaoran and figures things will get very fun soon. Sakura comes home and gives Yukito her chocolate, which makes her happy, but still can't figure out who to give the last chocolate to. Her father tells her that her mother used to give chocolate to her grandfather. Sakura asks about what happened to him, and Fujitaka explains that like Sonomi, her great-grandfather hated him and they barely kept in contact. Sakura figures she should give the chocolate to him to prove her father wasn't a bad person and her father thinks it's a great idea. Sakura decides to give him the same presents her mother did and using the Flower card, creates a bouquet of Nadeshiko flowers. Fujitaka hands the gifts over to Sonomi to deliver and she takes them. But Kero-chan explains the only reason she made extra is because she's a klutz!
