Reflectionsby Katie L.Torika had often wondered if anybody actually knew who she was. What she could do. Things were about to get a lot different. Yumi was the shy one in her class, she often tried to make friends but did not succeed. Its not that they didn't like Yumi. Some were just intimidated. Not by her attitude. But by her grades. Yumi sometimes even said she got low marks but they would find out eventually. So Yumi had just faded into the background. It was Tuesday evening. "Homework really takes it out of you!" Torika complained. "Well it's not like you had anything better to do. All the cards have been changed and your family's back together." Kero replied. "I'm…just...going to.." Torika yawned, "Head off...to bed. Goodnight kero!" "Night Torika." Torika dozed off into a deep sleep. She was dreamt about a field with a huge mirror right at the end. She rushed up to it, but the mirror had gone. All that was left was a tall woman. She had long blonde hair and glistening green eyes. The lady lent down and put her head near Torikas ear. "I know your little secret." She said. "NO!" Torika screamed. "Honey are you ok?" Sakura said as she rushed into her bedroom. "Yeah, it was just a bad dream. Nothing to worry about!" "Ok. Now you just get some rest, you have school in the morning, goodnight Torika." "Night mom." But the dream, it wasn't a bad dream. It was a recurring dream. Every night it came back. Until one night, it went to someone else. Torika was sound asleep, while Yumi wasn't. "Yumi?" A voice said. "Who's there??" Yumi asked as she looked up only to see the woman. She bent down. "How does it feel to go unnoticed?" "What?" "It's as if you have a superpower! Invisibility. Don't you want friends?" "More that anything. But who are you?" "I'm the lady with power. They call me Rita. I am giving you power Yumi. Use it as you will. Use it to make friends. People judge you before they get to know you. They think they can see right through you. But now you shall see right through them!" Yumi woke up. "What a weird dream." She thought. It was a Thursday morning. Yumi was on her way to school. She looked over to the window. Torika and Tai were walking past. But then Yumi froze. She looked over to their reflections. Tai had a tall man with long white hair and wings as his reflection and Torikas one was off her but in the battle suit she had fought Yue in. She was carrying some kind of staff. "Don't they see it too!" Yumi said to herself. But in the back of her head she heard a voice. "Use your power Yumi, make friends. You decide if others can see them or not! Use it!" Yumi went down on her knees. "No! No!" She shouted. Torika and Tai rushed over to Yumi. "Are you ok Yumi?" They asked. Suddenly, the screaming stopped. Yumi looked up. "I know your little secret." "What!?" Torika said in shock. "Our secret?" Tai asked. Yumi grabbed their hands. "Look at your reflections!" They saw exactly what Yumi saw. Yue was staring back at Tai and Torika had well herself but dressed in her mums battle suit. "You know the lady don't you? The tall, blonde lady from my dreams!" "She gave me these powers, and said I could use them as I will!" "We need to stop this some how!" Tai said. "There won't be any stopping here! I'm in control now. And if you want to keep your secrets safe, then you will be my friends!" Yumi said. "You can't just force people to be your friends! To make a friend you have got to be one!" Torika said. "Fine then." Yumi said as she walked over to the window. She put her hands on the window, her reflection was the woman. They grasped each other hands. Suddenly Torika and Tai felt like they were being pulled over to the mirror. They both couldn't control their actions. They grasped hold of there reflections too. And with a blink of an eye. Torika was dressed in her battle suit and Tai was Yue. And their reflections was their normal selves. "Now the whole world will see you for what you really are!" Yumi laughed. "Don't worry, I have my cards in my back- uh oh!" Torika said. "What?" "My reflection has my backpack!" Torika said as she slammed her hands on the window. "Its strange, I'm still Tai, but in Yues body. It just changes the way we look!" He said. "And if we don't get out of here soon people will definatly want to look!" She replied. "Can't you just change your clothes?" "Oh yeh!" Torika said as she tired to tug of her hat, "It's no use, it's stuck on like glue!" "Yumi would never do this, but we don't know enough about her to say she is mean." "Nobody knows anything about her. All I have heard is that she is smart." "Come on we need to get to your house and fast!" "MOM! KERO! We have a problem!" Torika said as she rushed through the door with Tai. They sat down and Torika explained everything. "There has to be a way to turn them back sakura!" Kero said. "If you're so smart, you figure it out!" She said But when she turned around, he was gone. "Kero what are you doing!" Sakura said as she looked over into the kitchen. "Brain food!" Kero said stuffing his self, "The only way I can think of is it get Yumi to change you back. "But that evil lady is controlling her." Tai explained. "Then we will just have to convince her and break that ladies spell!" Torika said. "But where could she be though?" Kero said. "Reflections…Hey, isn't the carnival in town?" Sakura asked. "The House of Mirrors! We will go there tonight!" Torika said. Late that night, Torika, Tai and Kero snuck into the carnival. "The coast is clear, I'll stay outside just in case anybody else comes!" Kero said. "This is just like a maze, but it's good to see me again round every corner." Tai said. "This way..." Torika said when suddenly….SMACK! Torika ran into a mirror, "Ouch! Ok….this way!" Round every turn were just mirrors. "Nice of you to join us!" Yumi said. They both tried to run up to her but there were mirrors in the way. "Over here!" Tai rushed up to her but no luck again. "No here!" Torika ran over but it was just another reflection. "Ok Yumi! You have had your little game! Stop hiding like a coward." Torika said. "Fine fine, I really thought you two would be my friends, your sweet kind, but you lie to everyone! Everyday you lie about being Yue, Tai! And every day you lie about being the Carcaptor Torika! And every day, people take one look at me and don't even want to know me." "You have to fight it Yumi! We know you are in there!" Tai said. "No…..Stop it! Get out of my head!" Yumi Screamed. She stood up and looked at her reflection. "It's me! She has gone!" "I was in your position once." Rita said. "All I wanted was friends, I tired to force them but nothing worked!" "Rita, to make a friend you have to be one!" Yumi said as she held out her hand. Rita grabbed her hand and smiled. Her body just changed into a stream of sparkles and colours. The stream went around Torika, changing her back into her school clothes. Then it went around Tai, changing him back into his normal self. And then it went around Yumi and into her heart. Yumi closed her eyes and saw Rita. "Is it too late to be a friend?" Yumi looked up at Rita and smiled. |
