Sur BwillettMon nom est Bwillett et j'ai été un dessinateur de bandes dessinées depuis le lycée. J'ai fait des bandes dessinées virtuellement toute ma vie, starting in elementary school. At first, I did Western style comics but at the end of Middle School/ beginning of High School I began to become more interested in drawing the manga style. I've loved comics all my life and when I would vacation in Poland I would watch overdubbed Anime. Even though I played Pokemon and watched the show, I didn't really get interested in Anime hardcore until Nelvana did the dub of Cardcaptor Sakura (Cardcaptors). I was obsessed with the show and would draw fan art for it all the time, and I was HEARTBROKEN when it was cancelled. It was cancelled around the time I started High School and with access to the school's computer I decided to do a fan site, the now 5 year-old site: BookofClow. Since there were a ton of fansites at the time, I decided to do something different to attract attention: I would do a comic. That's where Cardcaptor Torika, my first Doujinshi series came from. I was upset with the ending of the series of Cardcaptor Sakura (including watching the second movie) and thought up what happened after the series ended. I collected the story down on paper and started planning out a long-term series. At first I hand no idea what I was doing when it came to drawing manga besides copying already done drawings, so after a little practice and a few books from the library I redid the series and it kept going for four years, finally finishing in 2007. As I was about a year and a half into Cardcaptor Torika when I had to do a senior project to graduate High School. Since I was still a crazy Otaku I decided to do my own original series and submit it to a publisher. In hindsight, the art was completely and utterly terrible, but I passed the project and got a response from the publisher. After that little bit of encouragement, I decided that I would pursue comics as a full-time career. However, as the joke goes making money on comics is nearly impossible. So while I do my comics, I am also trained as an Industrial Designer. In addition to doing comics my other hobbies include playing video games, writing original stories and fan fictions, making dolls, collection vintage toys, Barbies and anime collectables and putting together garage kits. |
